NSF file for Notes Storage Facility is the database file of IBM Notes which is used to store email messages, calendar, contacts and other mailbox items. The email application has an inbuilt feature in it i.e. Access Control List (ACL) which contains a list of permissions attached to an object. The administrator can assign the required access rules for local users to access the file using this list. If the admin assigns the rules to the local users, then only the users can have the privilege to open or manage the database file.
