Lotus Notes is a desktop based email client provided by IBM. It is a popular email client and is used by several organizations for email communication. The application provides many features such as emails, contact management, calendar, and much more. Fix Database Has Not Been Opened Yet Issue Manually

Solution 1: To solve the issue regarding the Lotus Script, you first have to find the Notes Database handle of the NotesDatabase object. After that, you can run Lotus Notes debugger or the debugging output statements to check the value of string that you are passing in IBM Notes to open DB. If you get the correct parameter in the output, then run the email application manually and use right server name, file path and user ID. This process can provide you the exact reason of error.

Solution 2: To resolve the Lotus Notes database .nsf has not been opened yet error, you can verify the security settings of Domino Server and the User Agent.

Execute the following steps to verify the security settings:

  • First login using the Notes ID.
  • Then open the document of Domino Server storing the database.
  • Here, add the name of the Server containing the Web service in “Trusted Servers” field on “Security Tab”.
  • After adding the name, verify that the DB file opens or not.

Solution 3: If the Lotus Notes DB not opened yet issue arises due to the connection failure between the Domino Server and client. Then, you can track the path of the server and fix the error to view database.

  • Launch IBM Notes email client and go to File tab.
  • Click Preferences and then select Notes Port from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose Trace option here.
  • In this window, enter the desired server name in destination path and click on Trace tab.
  • Here, the users can preview all the details of client and server connection. If the connection is done properly, then you can try the following solution.

Quick Solution: If you are still unable to access your DB while using IBM Notes email client using the above mentioned solutions. Then, you can try a migrator for Notes to Exchange and open mailbox data in Microsoft Exchange.
